Thomas Clark (1775 - 1859) Thomas Clark (1775–1859) was an English shoemaker (cordwainer) and composer born in Canterbury, Kent. Son of William Clark, also a shoemaker and he took over the family business on his father's death in 1823. He married Anne Ledger in St George's Church, Canterbury, in November 1806.
He is particularly well known for the composition of West Gallery music, particularly for non-conformist churches in the the South East of England.
