Priscilla Jane Owens (1829 - 1899) was an American song writer and teacher, born in Baltimore, Maryland, she was of Welsh and Scottish descent. Her hymn Will your anchor hold is the the official hymn of The Boys’ Brigade. For more than fifty years she was active in Sunday School work in her home town at the Union Square Methodist Episcopal Church, and most of her hymns and songs were written for Sunday School children.
