Leighton George Hayne (1836 - 1883) was an English Organ Maker, Organist, Composer and Anglican Clergyman. He was born at St. David’s Hall, Exeter, the third son of Richard Hayne, D.D., and educated at Eton and Queen’s College, Oxford. In 1856 he received his Mus.Bac. with a performance of his cantata “Praise the Lord O my Soul” as the exercise, and in 1860 proceeded to his Mus. Doc. He was ordained in 1861.
