Horatius Bonar (1808 - 1889) was a poet and Minister in the Presbyterian Free Church of Scotland, becoming Moderator of the General Assembly in 1883. Born and educated in Edinburgh, he was the son of James Bonar, Solicitor of Exise for Scotland.
