Biography
George Hugh Bourne (1840 - 1925) was born at St. Paul’s Cray, Kent, England, son of Rev. R. B. Bourne. Educated at Eton, and at Christ Church, Oxford he took Holy Orders in 1863. He was appointed Assistant Curate of Sandford-on-Thames (1863 - 1865) and then Head Master of St. Andrew's Chardstock (1866 - 1874). Warden of St. Edmund’s, Salisbury (1874 - 1885), Chaplain to the Bishop of Bloemfontein (1879 - 1898), Sub-dean of Salisbury Cathedral (1887 - 1901), and Treasurer and Prebendary of Salisbury Cathedral (1901). He died at St. Edmund’s College in 1925.
